Welcome to 2020-2021 PAC

Hi Loved Ones of ¿uuqinak'uuh Grandview Elementary Students!

I'm Lauren, and I'm the Chair of ¿uuqinak'uuh/Grandview Parent Advisory Council (PAC).

We haven't used this blog in a while. So we decided to brush off the dust, and try reaching out to you. And here we are! Even though this blog may be a little dusty, we still acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the unceded and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) nations. Although most of us are uninvited guests, may all of our actions honour the land.

This school year, ¿uuqinak'uuh/Grandview PAC's primary goal will be helping parents connect to each other and our school! We have exciting events planned and ways you can connect! 

We have a Facebook page! On our page, we will post events and announcements. You can also donate to PAC, via our Facebook page. 

In October, we elected new PAC executives. We also gave $300 to each teacher for classroom expenditures. 

This month, we decided to make videos of appreciation, which will be given to both the in-person and online teachers in December. If you would like to participate, contact us at grandviewpac@gmail.com. We will try and catch as many adult guardians as we can at morning drop offs and afternoon pick ups. For adult guardians of our online students, please do not hesitate to email us or contact us through Facebook!!

Next month, we will be asking you to decorate your door to celebrate winter and any winter holidays you celebrate! Take a picture and send it to grandviewpac@gmail.com. We will post the door pictures here and on our Facebook page. 

In 2021, we will have monthly activities that celebrate SOAR, and what SOAR means in our home lives!

We also have some silent auction plans during the time we usually have spring celebration.

Our next PAC meeting will be December 15th at 5pm. Email grandviewpac@gmail.com if you would like to attend, and we will send you the Zoom link. All parents, grandparents, and guardians of ¿uuqinak'uuh/Grandview (In-person attending and transitional) students are welcome to attend!

We have many more ideas connecting you to our school, but we need your help making them happen! While we are practicing physical distancing, we still need you to be part of our community. We invite you to join ¿uuqinak'uuh/Grandview PAC!
